Despite steep investment cuts and project cancellations from oil companies around the world, one Texas company awarded employees with a sizable bonus.
Hilcorp Energy Co. gave every eligible employee a cash award of $100,000 for meeting its goals set five years ago.
The Houston-based energy company’s “Dream 2015” plan was a five-year incentive program that began in 2011 and awarded eligible employees with a cash award of $100K if the company’s production rate, reserves and value doubled by the end of 2015.
Employees didn’t even need the full five years to accomplish their goals. Hilcorp reached every goal it targeted by April 2015, and checks were distributed to all employees. Employees hired after June 2011 participated on a pro-rated basis. Checks were distributed to all employees in June 2015.
Employees of all job levels and titles were eligible for the bonus, the Houston Chronicle reports.
This isn’t the first time Hilcorp doled out hefty bonuses.
In 2010, employees received a $50,000 voucher for a new car for reaching the previous five-year goals.
Fortune named Hilcorp as one of the best companies to work for in 2015.
